Myths of PHP language

There are many people, companies and developers, who will discourage you to use PHP. As PHP is emerging as a leading technology, so are the myths concerning its scope.  But all these statements are false, because as days are passing by the scope for PHP is rapidly increasing.

First of all PHP is no new than java, James Gosling, Mike Sheridan, and Patrick Naughton initiated the Java language project in June 1991 and was launched officially in 1995. Whereas, PHP was first developed by Rasmus Lerdorf  in year 1994, and officially launched it in 1995. PHP was further developed and by Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans. PHP has eventually grown and emerged as one of the top technologies over the globe.

PHP has been here for over two decades now; it has proved the techno forecasters wrong on their opinion on the development of the language. It is still evolving with multiple features and easy operators.

Few more myths about PHP which are to be mentioned are:

PHP is Not Fast: One, who has never worked on PHP, would only say so. PHP programming if done correctly can execute faster than other languages. There are multiple Libraries which if implemented makes your codes run faster.

PHP is Unsecure:    Security of a code basically depends on the knowledge of the developer. If the developer is knowledgeable enough, he will write codes which are hard to crack. The security of the code depends on the developer not the language. And No application is 100% secure. It is eventually improvised.

PHP is for smaller applications: One of the biggest applications is built on PHP, none other than Facebook. There are other examples like, Yahoo, WordPress, and Wikipedia.

PHP has no scope:  Over 250 Million websites are built in PHP. That contributes to over 80% of the total no. of websites available.

PHP has Low Salary range: What does salary has to do with the language or technology. The salary is something which envelops ones Knowledge, Skills and Experience. It varies individually. Developers are earning $200,000 per annum with their skills and experience.

PHP cannot handle Loads: Then again, do we need to check how much traffic does site like Facebook, Yahoo, WordPress, and Wikipedia get? Must be highest of all the websites over the globe. At times, may be even more than 10 heavy trafficked websites.

I guess there’s a lack of awareness among the developers for this language. No company promotes PHP which is one of the important reasons that people fail to understand the importance of PHP language. Though PHP is easy, it is a vast language, which needs to be explored with experience.

First of all I would like to say excellent blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I’ve had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips? Thanks!
