In HTML you have limited option to make your web page dynamic but by using CSS you can create a very dynamic web page. CSS allows you to change the color of text, you can set the style of font, you can use images as a background, you can create space between paragraph and more lots of work you can do with CSS.

So we can say that CSS saves lots of work. The main purpose of CSS that it defines how the HTML elements display in web page.

Normally styles are saved in external file which have the “.css” extension. So that if you want to change the layout and appearance of all web pages than you have to modify only one single file and changes you have done will be apply on all pages where you have used that external CSS.

Advantages of using CSS:

  • Saves lots of time: How CSS saves lots of time? If you create a external CSS than you have to write the CSS code only once a time and you can use that in all web pages so it will save your lots of time.
  • Easy Maintenance: If you want to make global changes so simply change the style and it will update all web pages automatically.
  • Page Loading is Faster: By using CSS you do not need to write HTML tag attributes every time so that means you are writing less code and so that the downloading will be fast.
  • Multiple Device Compatibility: CSS supports multiple devices. For example you are using HTML document but different versions.

 Versions of CSS:

There are mainly three version are available they are as follows:

  • CSS1
